Description

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources functions of the Company. Assumes responsibility and is accountable for adherence to WC policies and procedures, as well as all applicable federal and state laws as they pertain to healthcare and employment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains the Company’s benefit programs enrollment, such as group insurance, life, medical and dental, accident and disability, retirement savings plans, flexible spending accounts, and other ancillary offerings. Also responsible for COBRA administration.
  • Monitors application and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position does not supervise any employees.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Participates actively and helpfully in special committees as assigned by management and/or physicians.
  • Any other duties as defined by Management and/or Physicians.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field and one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Work related experience should be within the discipline of human resources or healthcare. Educational experience, through in-house training, formal school, or related curriculum, should also be applicable to the human resources discipline.

PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position will occasionally have exposure to contagious diseases; bodily fluids including blood; toxic substances; medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.

This position requires up to 10-20% travel between locations and to training conferences/seminars.

  • Frequently required to talk, hear, or communicate, convey, or exchange information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Frequently uses arms, hands, and fingers for grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/turning of wrists, and manipulating in the performance of various clerical duties such as typing, writing, and maintaining files.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or move about the office to accomplish tasks.
