Position Summary We’re seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to serve as the company’s first full-time HR and administrative leader. This role will oversee and be responsible for day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, and organizational development. As the sole HR professional, the HR Manager will partner closely with leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals, foster a positive company culture, and support a high performing, engaged workforce. Key Responsibilities: HR Compliance and Administration (40–50%) - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, wage and hour, etc.). - Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files. - Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a consistent and compliant experience. - Manage employee leave administration and benefits coordination; serve as primary contact for benefits brokers and insurance partners. - Partner with accounting to support payroll processes. - Advise managers on employee relations issues, escalating complex matters to the fractional Chief HR Officer when necessary. - Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns with discretion and professionalism. - Support performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes. - Contribute to a positive workplace culture through engagement, communication, and retention initiatives. Talent Acquisition and Recruiting (30–40%) - Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for internal hires - job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection. - Proactively source and engage candidates through multiple channels. - Maintain structured interview guides for commonly hired positions. - Partner with hiring managers and executives to ensure a smooth, professional recruitment experience. Training Coordination (5%) - Maintain a company-wide training calendar and coordinate logistics for training sessions. - Support consistency and participation tracking across training programs. Office Administration (15%) - Supervise the Executive Administrative Assistant and support smooth daily operations. - Oversee administrative processes to improve efficiency and team collaboration.
Requirements
Qualifications: - 5–7+ years of progressive HR and administration experience. - SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification required. - Experience managing HR functions or supervising staff preferred. - Prior experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment strongly preferred. - Additional certifications in recruitment, interviewing, or employee relations a plus.
