Drayden Insurance, a division of McDougall Insurance Group, is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our growing team. The HRBP will act as a strategic leader in Human Resources, and collaborate with the Alberta leadership team and the McDougall Insurance Group HR team to align HR strategies and lead the HR functions of the current Alberta team. The HRBP will provide expertise, guidance and support on all HR activities including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefit administration, employee relations, and organizational development.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with leadership to offer strategic HR insights that support and align with the business objectives of Alberta operations
Provide advice and counsel to front line leaders and management on all aspects of HR
Partner with leadership and HR Generalist on HR functions including employee engagement, talent acquisition, training and career development plans, performance management, workforce and succession planning, health and safety, HR technology and payroll
Ensure compliance in all relevant legislation including, but not limited to, Employment Standards Code, Alberta Human Rights, compensation guidelines, MIG policies and procedures, with a solid knowledge of HR best practices
Assist in implementing various HR initiatives, including providing recommendations on process and program improvements
Lead the talent acquisition process with support from the individual divisions and HR Generalist
Support the annual salary and benefits budget in conjunction with key leaders
Lead regular Employee Engagement Surveys in collaboration with the HR Generalist and division leads, including the design, measurement and evaluation of results; coordinate Corporate, Branch/Department Action Plans and accountabilities
Manage complex employee issues alongside the management team including, but not limited to investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary action, terminations
Conduct employee exit reviews and report findings to executive team to identify potential problem areas
Coordinate, administer and facilitate the performance management and talent management process for employees
Respond to questions from management and employees on a wide variety of HR matters
Collaborate with MIG HR team and participate in HR One Team
Work in collaboration with the management team to drive a high-performing and engaged workforce
In collaboration with the Alberta leadership team lead the implementation, development and adoption of HR Technology, metrics and reporting
Primary working location will be Drayden, Edmonton, with regular travel to other sites throughout Alberta, and head office in Belleville, Ontario as needed

Requirements
Minimum 5 years of related progressive experience
University Degree or Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field
CPHR designation considered an asset
Strong interpersonal skills, must be a trusted advisor with experience in building, shaping and maintaining positive relationships and partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders (hiring managers, colleagues, leadership team, etc).
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact and maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times, complying with all applicable privacy legislation and local policies and procedures
