Seafair Capital is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to be part of its growing HR Team, which delivers HR services to Seafair and its operating companies. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will support managers and employees in managing the delivery of strategic HR programs and services to our clients.

You are an experienced, energetic, values-driven HR professional who believes in the “do well while doing good” philosophy.  You bring a good understanding of the full range of HR disciplines and collaborate well with stakeholders and the HR team to deliver high caliber services to client groups. You strive for excellence in HR service delivery and have a passion for supporting and enabling the organization’s people objectives. You are a skilled influencer and communicator, who easily builds relationships and promotes a partnering approach across employees and leaders. You embrace problem solving, and can stay calm, cool, and collected when things get tough all while guiding management through challenging HR situations.

As Human Resources Business Partner you perform, but are not limited to, the following key responsibilities:

  • Live Seafair’s core values and ensure they are integrated in HR service delivery to the assigned operating company(ies);
  • Partner closely with colleagues in HR and the operating companies to deliver on HR strategies, core programs and new initiatives;
  • Builds collaborative relationships with Managers to deliver key activities;
  • Partners with leadership to identify, understand, and meet HR business needs to contribute to overall business success;
  • Provides input into design, development, and implementation of various HR programs and services in partnership with the HR Leadership;
  • Leads improvement opportunities for operational effectiveness, escalates and delineates key issues that promote problem solving;
  • Monitors operational/program performance as it relates to HR, and provides status updates and reports on operational/program metrics;
  • Ensures HR policies and processes are implemented efficiently and effectively throughout the organization;
  • Guides client groups in effective workforce planning;
  • Takes part in HR projects as required;
  • Uses HR data and analytics to identify and understand HR-related workplace trends and issues, and to inform decision making on these and other workplace matters;
  • Support HR and the operating companies in managing organizational change.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development or other related discipline is preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience which includes experience in a unionized workplace;
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or other recognized HR designation is an asset;
  • Experience working in a matrix relationship between HR and client(s) served is an asset;
  • Broad knowledge across the full scope of HR competency areas;
  • Broad knowledge of employment law and HR best practices;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders;
  • Excellent organizational and planning with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop, recommend and implement innovative solutions;
  • Demonstrated use of sound judgment and demonstrated ability to contribute to effective decision making.
