Human Resources Director
Full-Time, Salaried Position
Location: The Dalles Oregon Veterans Home
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Human Resources professional to join our team at The Dalles Oregon Veterans Home. In this vital leadership role you will manage and coordinate all aspects of HR operations while supporting our mission to serve United States veterans at a skilled nursing facility. Your expertise will help cultivate a positive, compliant, and growth-oriented workplace for our staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage OFLA/FMLA and Workers’ Compensation programs
- Oversee employee benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans
- Ensure compliance with EEOC, BOLI, and other applicable employment laws and regulations
- Support employee relations, and manage the payroll and recruitment offices
- Advise leadership on HR best practices, performance management, and workforce planning
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation while protecting confidentiality
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources Management experience
- Experience working collaboratively with Unions
- Proven knowledge of OFLA/FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, EEOC, and BOLI requirements
- Experience with benefits administration and employee relations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with management and staff at all levels
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification (preferred but not required)
- Demonstrated understanding of HR compliance and Oregon labor laws
- Commitment to supporting veterans and maintaining a respectful, inclusive workplace
