Description
Manages and directs the implementation and actively leads in accomplishing the pharmacy service's scope of practice. Coordinates the continuous improvement and advancement of outpatient pharmacy retail services for the Lobby Retail Pharmacy. In conjunction with the BMH-Memphis Director of Pharmacy, leads the planning, developing, implementing and monitoring of all outpatient pharmacy retail functions to ensure optimal outcomes by the use of integrated clinical, informational, and drug distribution systems.Responsibilities
Coordinates and manages the medication use process of outpatient pharmacy retail services including Meds to Beds, Point of Care testing.Manages and implements pharmacy service's administrative responsibilities to ensure productive and effective service programs.Manages resources in collaboration with the pharmacy services administrative personnel.Manages the integration of appropriate clinical and operational services.Ensures the implementation of the health system and department's performance improvement plan.Manages and monitors appropriate use of resources in accordance with capital and operational budget initiatives in an integrated health system.Promotes and adheres to our service first philosophy for customer service.Effectively manages one's own practice and self-development. Provides direction and oversight of the PGY 1 Community Pharmacy Residency program including rotation design and compliance with ASHP guidelines. Supervises all Pharmacists - Clinical Staff in the outpatient retail pharmacy services and oversees their day-to-day activities.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Pharm D from an accredited College of Pharmacy.TN Pharmacy license required and licensure in MS also preferred. Proficiency in operational pharmacy practice as acquired through at least 3 years of retail pharmacy experience as a retail pharmacist. Completion of an ASHP accredited post-doctoral Community Pharmacy Residency experience preferred.
2 years of retail experience preferred.
