Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salaried)
Position Description:
The Manager, Unit Human Resources & Faculty Affairs will complete full-service Human Resources and Faculty Affairs functions within the College of Education & Human Development providing strategic Human Resources guidance to the Dean of the college. This position will serve as a link between Managers and Employees, streamlining work-related employee relations, to foster a positive workplace environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to managers on Talent Management, Compensation, Employee Relations, and HR Administration advising on compliance with University policy, applicable laws, and on best practices
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Perform Employee Relations functions for the college including, but not limiting to, conducting mediation, monitoring the employee life-cycle, performance management, and administering disciplinary procedures in alignment with University Policy
- Collaborate with internal University Partners such as Central Human Resources, Payroll, and Faculty Affairs
- Attend college meetings as a Human Resources representative including, but not limited to, Senior Leadership Team, Academic Leadership Team, Budget Planning, and all-college meetings
- Serves as a Senior Leadership Team member, providing strategic guidance to the Dean on personnel practices to lead goal alignment
- Maintain, update, and create departmental staff and faculty personnel policies and procedures
- Research, design, create, and implement Professional Development Plans for Faculty and Staff
- Pursue Professional Development opportunities in Human Resources, and encourage continual development of staff
- Supervises the employee lifecycle (ie: recruitment, employment, evaluation, and release) of unit Human Resources personnel
- Actively engage in the direct report's success in their department role and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Human Resources
- Experience with mediation, conflict resolution, Faculty and Staff personnel practices.
- Experience working in a diverse University environment
- Certification in Human Resources (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR, other)
- Experience with Workday, OnBase, Interfolio, Microsoft Suite

Target Compensation Maximum:
$89,483.00
Target Compensation Minimum:
$59,655.00
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
