Steel Fabricators is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for its Ft Lauderdale, Florida facility. This location includes both an office environment (including the offices of Steel Fabricator's parent FabSouth, LLC) as well as a manufacturing plant and steel erection operations.

This is a hand-on position where you will work closely with all employees at the location. As the HR Generalist, you will be handling the following HR matters:
- Plans and carries out policies and programs relating to all phases of human resources, and payroll directly ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains staffing levels consistent with entity objectives. Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and coordinates new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Assist management in assessing departmental needs and organizational planning and development, evaluating structure, job design and manpower forecasting throughout the company.
- Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department and participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
- Revises position descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation/review processes and revises as necessary.
- Oversee employee payroll processing, benefit administration, and employee relation’s functions (event planning)
- Compiles and analyzes a variety of data (turnover, absenteeism, etc.) and develops programs/practices to address areas of concern.
- Engage with outside suppliers to provide employee services such as temporary Labor.
- Develops Employee Relations by counseling employees and other managers on various employee relation issues.
- Ensures compliance in recordkeeping and reporting related to all areas of responsibility ensuring all are consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations (i.e. I-9, workers compensation claims and return to work, safety, etc.)
- Develops and maintains the DOT Driver certification program for their
respective site. - Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field plus a minimum of 5 years of human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to operate various types of HR software.
- Good communication skills; verbal and written.
- Ability to interact well with employees & vendors on all levels.
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred. Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable but not required.
- The employee is required to be present in the office during normal work hours to be available for one-on-one and group interactions with employees. This role also may require flexibility to work occasionally early morning or late evening hours as needed to support business operations and employee engagement.
