Description

• Plans and carries out policies and programs relating to all phases of human resources, and payroll directly ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. 
• Maintains staffing levels consistent with entity objectives. Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and coordinates new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. 
• Assist management in assessing departmental needs and organizational planning and development, evaluating structure, job design and manpower forecasting throughout the company.
• Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department and participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. 
• Revises position descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation/review processes and revises as necessary. 
• Oversee employee payroll processing, benefit administration, and employee relation’s functions (event planning) 
• Compiles and analyzes a variety of data (turnover, absenteeism, etc.) and develops programs/practices to address areas of concern. 
• Engage with outside suppliers to provide employee services such as temporary Labor. 
• Develops Employee Relations by counseling employees and other managers on various employee relation issues. 
• Ensures compliance in recordkeeping and reporting related to all areas of responsibility ensuring all are consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations (i.e. I-9, workers compensation claims and return to work, safety, etc.) 
• Develops and maintains the DOT Driver certification program for their 
  respective site. 
• Performs other job duties as assigned by GM.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field plus a minimum of 5 years of human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to operate various types of HR software.
• Good communication skills; verbal and written.
• Ability to interact well with employees & vendors on all levels.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred. Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable but not required.
• The employee is required to be present in the office during normal work hours to be available for one-on-one and group interactions with employees. This role also may require flexibility to work occasionally early morning or late evening hours as needed to support business operations and employee engagement.
