Description
Director of People
Radeus Labs, Inc. | Poway, California | Full-Time | On-Site
Build the People Strategy Behind Technology That Matters
At Radeus Labs, we believe great technology starts with great people.
Headquartered in Poway, California, Radeus Labs designs and manufactures rugged computing and communications systems supporting aerospace, defense, and satellite communications industries. As a growing, agile technology company, we offer something larger organizations often cannot: the opportunity to work directly with leadership, influence business decisions, and see the impact of your work every day.
We are looking for a Director of People who is equal parts strategic partner, culture builder, and hands-on HR leader. This is an opportunity to shape the employee experience, strengthen our people operations, develop leaders, and build the HR infrastructure needed to support our next stage of growth.
If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, developing people, and turning ideas into practical results, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Strategic HR Leadership
Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align people strategies with business goals and growth plans.
Develop scalable HR processes, policies, and systems that support a growing workforce.
Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, and risk management.
Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and development practices.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical, engineering, production, warehouse, and corporate positions.
Build effective sourcing strategies and candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill roles.
Strengthen the candidate experience, interview processes, and onboarding program.
Use recruiting metrics to improve time-to-hire, hiring quality, and workforce planning.
Employee Experience & Culture
Champion a culture grounded in integrity, community, and continuous learning.
Develop employee engagement, recognition, communication, and retention initiatives.
Create opportunities for employees to connect, learn, and collaborate across departments.
Use employee feedback and engagement data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Manager Development & Performance
Coach managers on leadership, communication, performance management, and employee development.
Establish practical tools for goal setting, feedback, career growth, and accountability.
Support managers through challenging employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
Build a culture of continuous improvement and leadership ownership.
HR Operations & Compliance
Oversee payroll coordination, benefits administration, HRIS, employee records, and onboarding.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal, California, and local employment requirements.
Review compensation practices, benefits, policies, and employee programs.
Deliver required workplace training and maintain accurate HR documentation.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience leading or managing broad HR functions. Equivalent experience demonstrating the required capabilities will be considered.
Demonstrated success partnering with executives and advising managers in a growing organization.
Strong employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and HR operations experience.
Working knowledge of California employment laws and practical HR compliance.
Experience building or improving HR processes, employee engagement programs, and manager development initiatives.
Strong judgment, discretion, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
A hands-on, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to balance strategic priorities with daily operational needs.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, technically oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification; experience in a small or midsize technology, manufacturing, aerospace, or defense-related company.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will help Radeus Labs:
Build a repeatable recruiting and onboarding process that supports business growth.
Strengthen manager effectiveness, accountability, and employee development.
Improve employee engagement, recognition, and cross-functional communication.
Establish clear, efficient, and compliant HR processes.
Create a practical people strategy that supports both business performance and employee success.
Why Radeus Labs?
