- HR Generalist (Recruiting-Focused)
Description
Let’s get straight to it. This is not a “light recruiting, mostly HR admin” role. This is a high-volume, high-impact recruiting role that also owns core HR responsibilities. If you love recruiting, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and get real satisfaction from filling roles that keep a business running, keep reading.
What This Role Is Really About
At Family First, hiring is not a side task. It’s a business priority. You will spend a significant portion of your time recruiting across clinical and operational roles, making sure our locations are fully staffed with the right people.
When we hire well, everything works better.
When we don’t, everyone feels it.
This role owns that outcome.
What You’ll Actually Do
Own Recruiting. End-to-End.
- Run full-cycle recruiting across multiple locations
- Source, screen, interview, and move candidates quickly
- Partner with leaders to define what “great” looks like before hiring
- Keep pipelines warm so we’re not starting from scratch every time
- Improve how we attract talent, not just fill jobs
Be the Engine Behind Staffing
- Proactively identify staffing gaps before they become problems
- Balance urgency with quality in hiring decisions
- Represent Family First in the market in a way that reflects our standards
And Yes… You’re Still HR
Because great recruiting doesn’t exist in a vacuum, you’ll also:
- Support onboarding and ensure new hires actually stick
- Handle employee questions and day-to-day HR support
- Manage employee relations with fairness and consistency
- Support leave management, compliance, and documentation
- Assist with benefits and payroll coordination
What Makes This Role Different
We don’t operate like a typical healthcare organization.
- We expect accountability
- We value teamwork over ego
- We are building a great place to work
- We embrace change instead of avoiding it
We also have very real expectations:
- We don’t tolerate mediocre
- We don’t wait to be told what to do
- We look for people who ask, “what else can I do?”
Who Will Thrive Here
This role is for someone who:
- Actually likes recruiting (not just tolerates it)
- Can manage multiple open roles without dropping the ball
- Moves quickly, but doesn’t sacrifice quality
- Builds relationships easily with candidates and hiring managers
- Is comfortable in a role where priorities shift
A Few Logistics
- Reports to COO/CEO
- Travel between locations as needed
- Fast-paced, high-accountability environment
Let’s Be Honest
This role is not for someone who wants a slow, predictable day.
You’ll be:
- Juggling multiple open roles
- Following up with candidates constantly
- Working with managers who need people yesterday
- Balancing recruiting with real HR responsibilities
If that sounds energizing, you’ll do very well here.
If that sounds overwhelming, this probably isn’t the right fit.
