Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist has the responsibility of being the main point of contact for staff and managers and supports all human resources initiatives throughout the employee life cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training and development, benefits, trend analysis, reporting, record retention and HRIS optimization.
The ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, demonstrate a confidential nature, and have excellent attention to detail. This candidate should have a knack for efficiency, be people-oriented, and have an enthusiasm for problem-solving. Three to five years’ experience managing the daily workflow of human resources tasks, while enforcing company policies and practices is required.

Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and up-to-date employee files according to federal or state record retention requirements.
- Recruit, screen and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; post jobs, screen candidates, and collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions.
- Implement new hire onboarding and orientation, as well as employee recognition programs.
- Administer routine employee changes that relate to, but are not limited to, performance, leave, compensation, development, occupational health and safety, recognition, and benefits.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations and recommend best practices; Maintain current knowledge of guidelines such as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Joint Commission Guidelines.
- Attend and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain and update HR documents, such as organizational charts, directories, and performance evaluations.
- Provide guidance and support to management and supervisory staff on employee relations, performance improvement, and development.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or related HRIS systems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience administering and supporting human resources functions.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, and/or a master’s degree are preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
- Travel to either Frederick, MD, Westminster, MD, or Sykesville, MD once per week.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
