The Behavioral Lifebulb Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to become an integral part of our dynamic team. As a key member of our remote hospice care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients and their families receive the psychosocial support they need during a sensitive time.

Work Environment
This position offers the flexibility of remote work from the comfort of your home while serving the hospice center. Our support staff ensures you have the resources and assistance needed to thrive in your role. Our typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, with no evening or weekend shifts required, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while fully committing to your professional responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans that promote emotional well-being and coping strategies.
- Provide a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and patient education focused on managing psychosocial challenges.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and service coordination.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems to manage caseloads effectively and comply with mental health regulations.
- Identify patients who may require inpatient treatment or specialty care services and facilitate appropriate referrals to ensure continuity of care.
- Screen patients for substance abuse issues and provide appropriate counseling or referrals to local resources in adherence to best practices.
- Stay abreast of current developments in the field by participating in ongoing education, attending workshops, and engaging in networking opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the hospice care environment, you will primarily work with terminally ill patients and their families, offering support that encompasses emotional, social, and spiritual needs. By employing your expertise, you'll help families navigate the complex grief process, apply effective coping mechanisms, and prepare for end-of-life transitions in a dignified manner. Your work will directly impact enhancing the quality of life for both patients and their loved ones during a challenging time.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical social work practices, mental health assessment, and psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Strong crisis intervention skills and mature judgment to support patients in distress.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written form, with healthcare teams and patients.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for patient management and documentation.
- Competency in working collaboratively within a culturally diverse team.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in hospice care or palliative care settings is highly beneficial.
- Experience in working with diverse populations and understanding cultural considerations in mental health treatment.
- Familiarity with community resources and support services available for patients and families.
Compensation and Benefits
Behavioral Lifebulb Counseling Center recognizes the hard work and commitment of our social workers. We offer a competitive salary range between USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
