Work Environment
This role is structured within a remote outpatient office setting, allowing for a flexible work-life balance without compromising on the quality of care provided to our clients. You will have access to the latest teletherapy tools and resources to facilitate effective therapy sessions, ensuring that you can connect with clients in a comfortable, convenient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities aimed at enhancing emotional well-being and resilience.
- Monitor and assess client progress throughout their personalized treatment plans regularly, making adjustments as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to design comprehensive care plans.
- Engage in follow-up communications with treating psychiatrists and medical practitioners, particularly for clients requiring hospitalization, to ensure continuity of care.
- Identify potential risks and barriers to recovery, implementing proactive strategies to address these issues effectively.
- Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to manage behavioral challenges and enhance their understanding of mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will engage with a diverse range of clients, including adults and adolescents facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Our focus on creating a safe, open, and respectful therapeutic alliance is key to promoting healing and personal growth.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- A valid LMHC license to practice in New York State.
- Proven experience working as a Mental Health Counselor or in a comparable role, with a solid understanding of therapeutic practices and frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with a compassionate demeanor, essential for building trusting relationships with clients.
- Familiarity with the effects of psychotropic medications and their impact on clients' mental health is highly valued.
Preferred Experience
- Additional certifications or training in specific therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or similar approaches.
- Experience working with specific populations such as veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, or those struggling with substance use disorders is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role ranges between USD 80,000 and 101,000 per year, commensurate with experience and productivity. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
