Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs, developing tailored treatment plans outlining individual goals.
- Coordinate care by referring clients to community resources, educational institutions, and support groups as necessary based on individual assessments.
- Offer counseling sessions to clients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to address diverse mental health issues and facilitate personal growth.
- Provide education and resources to clients and their families about managing mental health challenges and encourage adherence to therapeutic recommendations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community programs to ensure comprehensive care for individuals, promoting holistic well-being.
- Document all client interactions and treatment processes accurately in electronic health records to ensure compliance with organizational policies and protect client confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay informed of the latest trends in mental health treatment, participating in peer consultations and supervision when required.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Warm Comfort Counseling, LLC, you will work with a diverse client population. This includes individuals from various backgrounds dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and interpersonal conflicts. A significant focus is also placed on supporting clients in schools and those who are incarcerated. Your role will be essential in fostering recovery and improving community mental health outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution, or imminent completion of such a program.
- A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
- At least two years of hands-on experience providing counseling services in a clinical setting.
- Strong foundational knowledge of psychological theories, research on human behavior, and the nuances of mental health treatment.
- Proficiency in using evidence-based techniques and current mental health intervention trends.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with specific client populations such as children, adolescents, or individuals in crisis.
- Familiarity with resources available in the The Dalles community and surrounding regions, enhancing effective referral practices.
- Demonstrated success in interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare or community settings.
