Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic treatment to assigned clients dealing with significant mental illness and emotional challenges both remotely and in the community.
- Develop and maintain trustful relationships with clients, their families, and co-workers, ensuring a supportive therapeutic environment.
- Create and implement tailored care plans that address the unique needs of each client, ensuring they access relevant services and resources.
- Conduct brief, evidence-based assessments and screenings, arranging for more comprehensive evaluations when necessary.
- Assist clients in crisis intervention situations and provide necessary support to facilitate immediate safety and emotional stabilization.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to share insights and improve client outcomes.
- Ensure timely documentation and reporting of client progress and treatment recommendations, maintaining adherence to professional ethical standards and organizational policies.
- Engage actively in ongoing professional development, enhancing skills and knowledge pertinent to social work practices.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness and expanding access to mental health services.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily involves working with vulnerable populations, including individuals facing financial, social, and health-related adversities. You will support clients experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and serious emotional disturbances. Your work will contribute significantly to enhancing their resilience and facilitating access to broader health and community resources.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Active LCSW license in the state of New York.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in a clinical setting, particularly with diverse populations.
- Strong understanding of mental health diagnostic criteria and therapeutic modalities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently while also being an effective team member.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in community health organizations or settings that serve low-income populations.
- Background in crisis intervention and management.
- Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with case management software and electronic health record systems.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000, commensurate with experience.
